Terms and Conditions
Truebertan Contracting LTD · Updated October 28, 2026
Clear expectations before work begins
Truebertan Contracting LTD provides renovation and construction services from Leduc, Alberta. These terms explain how we approach project scope, changes, payments and completion. Your written quotation and project agreement identify the terms for your particular project.
Quotes and project agreements
Calling us or submitting a quote request starts a conversation. It does not book construction, authorize charges or create a construction contract.
Before work is authorized, your written quotation or agreement will identify the agreed scope, materials, price and applicable taxes, payment milestones, anticipated schedule, exclusions and warranty. Any quotation expiry date will be stated in the quotation. Site assessments, design work or other preliminary services that carry a fee require prior agreement.
These website terms apply to a project only when the version is supplied or clearly identified in the project agreement and accepted as part of that agreement. Updating this website does not change an existing contract. Applicable law and mandatory consumer rights take priority over any conflicting term.
Scope, selections and permits
The project price covers the work and materials listed in the approved quotation. Additional work requires agreement. Painting, demolition, disposal, electrical work, plumbing and other services are included only when identified in the scope; their inclusion varies by project.
Responsibility for permits, inspections, design documents and specialized trades will be recorded in the project agreement. Required permits and approvals must be in place before the relevant work begins. Work must comply with applicable codes and legal requirements.
Concept images and renderings communicate design direction. They are not engineering, permit or fabrication drawings. Final dimensions, product selections and construction details need to be confirmed for the actual property.
Changes and unexpected conditions
Renovations can uncover conditions that were not visible during the initial assessment, including damaged framing, moisture, unsuitable wiring or earlier work that needs correction. We will explain the issue and seek written approval of additional scope, price and schedule changes before proceeding wherever reasonably possible. Immediate safety or damage-prevention measures may be necessary in an emergency; we will document and communicate them as soon as reasonably possible.
Client-requested changes should also be recorded in an approved written or electronic change order. A conversation about possible work is not a substitute for agreeing to its cost and scope.
Scheduling and access
The agreement will identify the anticipated start and completion schedule and any expressly guaranteed dates. Material availability, inspections, weather, concealed conditions and approved changes can affect timing. We will communicate material changes as they become known.
Clients must provide agreed access and identify known site hazards or restrictions. Before work begins, we will discuss protection of belongings, work areas and arrangements for occupants and pets. Construction can involve dust, noise and temporary disruption; reasonable care and agreed protection measures remain part of the work.
Payments, deposits and cancellation
Your quotation sets out your project’s deposit, payment milestones and due dates. There is no single payment percentage for every service. Applicable statutory holdbacks and payment requirements remain in effect.
Please contact us promptly if you need to cancel or postpone. Any cancellation charges must follow the accepted project agreement and applicable law. Outside applicable statutory cancellation rights, reasonable documented costs or commitments may be payable where the agreement permits, taking account of recoverable materials, avoided costs and payments already received. Deposits are not automatically forfeited merely because a customer cancels.
Nothing on this page removes a cancellation, refund, payment-dispute or other right that cannot legally be waived. Additional requirements and cancellation notices may apply to qualifying prepaid or direct-sales contracts; those must be addressed in the actual agreement.
Materials and other contractors
Manufacturer warranties follow the manufacturer’s own coverage and claim process. Client-supplied products do not receive a material warranty from Truebertan, but our installation workmanship remains subject to the agreed workmanship coverage. We will raise suitability concerns we identify before installation.
Work by trades hired directly by the client and outside our scope is their responsibility. This does not remove our responsibilities for work included in our contract, including work we subcontract.
Completion, cleanup and concerns
At completion, we will review the contracted work and record outstanding items that are our responsibility. Minor outstanding items and any substantial-completion milestone will be handled under the project agreement and applicable law. Construction debris removal and cleanup expectations will be described in the scope; whole-home housekeeping is included only if agreed.
If you have a concern, contact us with the project details, a description and relevant photographs. We will review it and discuss inspection and next steps. The project warranty explains workmanship coverage. Customers retain applicable rights to seek other remedies or make a consumer complaint.
Project photographs
We may document work for project records. Public marketing use should be discussed with the client and permission recorded before publication. Private addresses, personal documents and other identifying household information should not be included in public project photographs without appropriate permission.
